She stands dominant in the midst of mist and mistry above the clouds. It rises straight from 900m above mean sea level to an amazing snow laden roof at 5896m and truly is the roof of Afrika. She reigns over the plains below and is the tallest free standing mountain in the world. Covering an area of around 100 kms in length and 65 kms in width. It stands at the epicentre of Kilimanjaro National Park which is 1668 sq kms in area.

The best months for climbing Elbrus are July and August. The air pressure in these months is the highest throughout the year and hence easier for participants to be at high altitude. Elbrus is considered to be quite accessible for both inexperienced and professional mountaineers. There are no technically difficult parts and climb is simply monotonous walking.
